After an unfortunate automotive accident, he awoke in the hospital with no memory — or, rather, no memory of a life as someone named Jacob. As time ticks on, anything he manages to remember never matches up to what he learns about himself from friends, family and documentation. Call it whatever you want, but one thing is for certain: this isn't the sort of thing to bring up during the weekly headshrink.
